Removable prosthetics
Removable prosthetics is performed when the support of toothless parts of the jaw is required as a support due to excessive missing teeth or unfavorable static distribution of teeth in the jaws.
Because the teeth are heavily loaded in this case, the prognosis of removable prosthetic substitutes is worse than fixed substitutes.
Removable prosthetics can also replace lost bone and soft tissues, which inevitably disappear when the tooth is no longer in the jaw. Removable dentures must therefore be detachable in order to maintain good hygiene.
Removable prosthetics can be extremely stable and offer the patient a sense of security. If there are too few dental supports, one or more dental implants can be added to which the denture is attached to the teeth to restore good function to the patient.
The aesthetics of dentures can also be top notch, sometimes even easier to achieve than with fixed substitutes. Today, we have several providers of individualized high quality teeth, and we can also design pink acrylics so that it is difficult for a specialist to discern that this is an artificial gum.
Total denture
Total denture
When the tooth is no longer in the mouth, we make a total denture. These generally work well in the upper jaw but in the lower jaw, the professional standard of minimum care for toothless jaws recommends the insertion of at least two implants. As a rule, total dentures do not work well in the lower jaw.
